HOW OUR SOCKS ARE MADE?

At URFIT socks, we’ve worked long and hard to source the best materials and methods to deliver a range of comfortable and practical socks that go the distance.
Step One

Materials are sourced based on the colour and composition of the sock. Raw fleece and cotton are then cleaned and spun into bundles of yarn. The next step in the process is dying. This dyed yarn is then fed into knitting machines in which the socks are knitted with open toes.

Step Two

After the knitting is done, these socks are sent for hand-linking which is the process of joining the toes using a thread of the same material as the one used to knit the socks.

Step Three

Then, socks are washed with water and dried to remove knitting oils and any residue from the yarns. This also helps reduce shrinkage and stabilize them.

Step Four

Socks are then placed on metal plates in the board pairing area. Here, they are pulled to be formed into different shapes and sized, and then steamed at high temperature to retain their final shape.

Step Five

At the final stage, all the finished socks are inspected for quality, sorted into pairs and fastened together with a tag.
